My 8 1/2 month old, just took her first step!!!!
Oh g'd im in for it with this one...lately shes been standing alone not holding onto anything in her play yard..shell either stand there and yell, or dance, but shes not holding onto anything and is totally stable..
just now, she was standing for like a minute, and wanted to get to the other gate, so she took a step, and grabbed on to the next gate!!
does this mean shes gonna start walking soon!?!?!??!
she was early with everything else!!
oh geeeeez

Its hard to tell, I know some kids that took steps for months before they got the confidence to walk FT.
DS took his first "steps" around 9 months and became a FT walker at 10.5 months! I remember seeing a 9.5 month old at the peds office walking so it could happen!
Either way I would start getting ready, its a whole new world of childproofing and worry when they start walking!

Eliza started cruising just before 8 months and took her first steps at 9 months. She just turned 10 months old and is taking about 8-10 steps at a time before she gets "tired" and lowers herself to the ground. Considering my first was barely crawling at 9 months, I have been  for awhile now.
Gotta love second babies- always trying to keep up with their older siblings.

DD did the same thing around the same time. And walked independently at 10.5 months.
But I DO have a friend whose brother walked at 8 months. His mother said it was insane and she was so glad the other boys didn't do the same

DD started cruising at 8 months, took her first step around 9 1/2 - 10 months and didn't walk until about 11 1/2 months.

ABSOLUTELY!!! My DS was taking a few steps at 8 1/2 months, was taking about 10 steps at 9 months and was FULLY walking at 9 1/2 months. He was like your DD and did everything early.
