my 1st appt.. coming up..why am i so scared?

well my 1st appt is on Mon... i am extremely scared and nervous.. i dont know why! its making me sick to my stomach!

can you ladies tell me what to expect? do i get a sonogram yet? i will be 6 weeks.. and does the apt take really long?

Why are you nervous? Don't be!! My first appt in 3/13! I cannot wait to go!

They may be able to do an internal sono, but who knows. They will take blood, pee, weigh you, give you info about pregnancy and you'll discuss scheduling for upcoming tests that you'll need to take within the next few weeks!

They'll do an internal exam, make you pee in a cup to give you a pregnancy test and probably give you a Rx for bloodwork. They'll also schedule your first sono.

Don't worry, it is perfectly normal to be scared. I was too! I was literally shaking and making myself faint. All they did was take my history (since it was a new doctor) and take like 7 vials of blood. I go back for my first sono on 3/3 and i am sure I'll be even more nervous about that one! Just make sure to come with any and all questions that you have. It depends on the office, but a lot of them don't do the first sono until 8 weeks. So you may or may not have one.

don't be nervous (easier said than done i know!!) - you might not get a sono, but they will confirm the pregnancy with a pee test, your doc will tell you what not to eat, give your a script for bloodwork and prenatals, and they will schedule a sono for you around 8 weeks.

Dont be nervous! (Although easier said than done..)

I walked into my first appointment so nervous, my blood plessure was through the roof. It was actually quite scary because I felt my heart beating out of my chest. It wasn't anything to be scared of at all. I remember it being like a consultation with lots & lots of questions asked about your health & family history! I was a bit over 5 weeks & had my first sonogram.

You shouldn't be nervous!

My first appointment was around 6 weeks and my doctor did a pap, took my vitals, weighed me, and took about 6 or vials of blood. She also gave me a prescription for prenatals.

My first sonogram was at 8 weeks.

Its perfectly normal...I get nervous every time I have a doc appt.....youre just anxious and want everything to be ok......dont worry!!!

I understand how you feel. At almost 13 weeks even after having seen the heartbeat 3 times and having heard it once, I am still nervous to walk into my docs office. It gets better the further you go. Feel how you feel and make no apologies.
