my 15 month old DD has to wear a cast on her leg for 3 weeks
Long story short, my 15 1/2 month old DD fractured a bone in her foot and has to wear a cast and a boot for 3 weeks!
I don't have pictures right now but it is so heartbreaking to see.
She is so annoyed because she can't run around in the boot and cast. The next three weeks are going to feel like 3 years!

i kind of know how you feel DD has hip dysplasia and for the 1st 6 weeks of her life she had to wear this awful brace 24hrs a day!! then they cut back her hours once she started to get better a year later she still has to wear a brace to sleep and i feel terrible for her it will get easier i promise!! i hope your DD has a speedy recovery!!!

DS had a full leg cast for 8 weeks when he was 18months old. She will get used to it, and she will probably learn how to walk around in it. DS did. It bothered me more than him and when it was time to take it off he cried bc he didnt want them to take his "big sock".
Itll go by quickly and shell adjust I promise! She will be fine! I hope she heals quickly!!!

Thanks everyone! the cast is below her knee, so at least it isn't that big. She has been slowly taking steps in it. she is so mad! this is a kid who has been running around since she was 10 1/2 months old!

My DS had a cast was up to his knee and curled around his toes at 12 months. He had surgery on an extra toe. You will be surprised how well she will adapt to it. My DS was up and walking on his cast the very next day! I know how sad it is to see, but she will be okay! to mommy and baby!

Poor little girl. My son broke his leg and had a cast over his knee for 4 weeks when he was 18 mos. He was also a crazy man before that and in a week or less he was running around the house dragging his little leg like the cast wasn't even there. The day it came off the dr said could take a few days or so to go back to normal and have him take it easy - he was running that day and no stopping him. The minute we came home he hoped on ride on toy and was racing around the house. He limped for a bit after but was totally fine real quick!! Hope she has a speedy recovery!!!!
PS I know it is heartbreaking to see....both my boys broke bones young and even years later looking at pictures I feel heartbroken all over again!!
