mutt manners/ best friends dog training

Hey all,

We're having mutt manners come by Saturday for a free in-home evaluation. Anyone have any experience with them? Do you know how much the training is?
I have two crazy pomeranians.

if you do the in home training i believe it's around 600 if you do the 2 week board and train (we did this) it's 1500. they did a great job with jameson. we have 1 more follow up which we're gonna take her to petco or something cause she's still having some issues with that. she thought that because she came home, she could go back to some of her old ways. she's a brat.

i had best friends training come to my home to give me evaluation. IDK in my opinion I just think anywhere from a couple of hundred to thousands is over the top expensive. Esp when they say its a lifetime guarantee , if they are so good , why say that !!

I looked into petco & its $100 for like 6 weeks , which that i can swallow.. I gues sif your dog /puppy is nutso they it may be worht the extra $ . I certainaly cant entertain it.. They told me $800.. LOL i was like um thanks ,,

you have to realize, the price includes the collar (which is expensive) and the lifetime classes is great. it's not that they keep retraining your dog, it's group classes where you can socialize your dog and continually exercise your dog's brain. you can't just train a dog and that's that. you want the dog to grow with the training and this helps. they do many things for their clients as well (picnics, parties, etc)

petco's training is sh!t. basically anyone can become a trainer there and they only teach you the basic sit, stay, etc. best friends gets down to the real issues, behavioral &/or obedience training. it's worth every penny. seriously, if you have real dog issues (and not that your dog won't listen to you when you say sit), you should do it.

I've been "training" with them for 3 years I agree with post above...
It was worth every dime. We first tried the "petco" training and it really taught us nothing.
We bring our dog everywhere and he's so well behaved. It all depends what you want out of your dog.

also..... as for the lifetime thing.... as we all know different issues can come up ina dog's life and they we work with you.

yeah, it may be worth the money with us. we have two ankle bitting freak out when someone comes to the door pomeranians. they will do basic commands with food. they can't be trusted around kids and we are trying to have a baby so it scares me. one has bit my sister when she was just sitting on the couch, and he's also bit my baby niece when she pulled on his ear. and these dogs live for like 15 years, so another 14 years of this will not work!

they are angels with us, but devils with everyone else!

I used them, we paid $1500. I personally had a not-so-great experience with them. Mainly because we were never told our dog needed to get a bordetella vaccine and out vet never gave our dog one, so our dog came home very sick with kennel cough. (We did not know about this vaccine obviously or we would have had it done). After a month of talking back and forth with the school, asking a million questions, all they kept saying was bring his vaccine sheets. Wjen we got there, they saw he didnt have this shot and said theyd take him anyway and let their vet do it. Me and DH not being too experiened with this, said ok and handed our 5 month old dog and 1500 bucks to them. After I lodged a complaint, they added the word bordetella to their website. We did the 2 week board and train. My dog came home not knowing all the commands they promised and they handed us our sick dog back and never even called us for followup. Also, I did not appreciate that for 1500 dollars they had an apprentice "training" my dog. I have a Bullmastiff and they need strict training. So, I was not happy with them.
