MTHFR and lovenox?
HI Ladies. I am looking for experiences and thoughts on lovenox for those with MTHFR.
I was diagonsed last month and met with a high rish specialist. She actually has MTHFR and now has 3 healthy kids. So I trust her. She is an expert in the field and I feel lucky to have such a supportive dr.
My issue is that she is very aggressive as far as treatment. She really wants me to do the lovenox shots 2x a day. Plus a ton a vitamins.
Now I am willing to do anything to have a healthy baby.
Just curious about your thoughts on the treatment for MTHFR.

That is the appropriate treatment when PG for some docs. I and my sister who is 36 weeks PG are on 40 mg once a day. Instead of taking tons of vitamins ask for Metanx which is broken down folic acid and B vitamins in one small pill. I do take Lovenox during a conception cycle from 1 dpo-this way I avoid any clotting issues should i get PG. can you FM or tell me who is your Dr? And what type of specialist. Are you pregnant currently? Thanks!

I moved from LI a couple of months ago. I am now in MD. My Dr. is Sheri Hamersley. She is a high risk ob/gyn in maternal and fetal medicine.
I asked about Metnax..she said she perfers specific brands of supplements to it becuase they have more mg of the vitamins.
I can Fm you the list she suggests.
Also she wants me to take (2) 40mg shots a day.
Thank you so much...you seem to know a lot about MTHFR and have been a great resource.
I go to the dr for my injection class on Monday. Wish me luck

I am melijanes sister and am also on Lovenox (40mg once a day) and metanx
I have had no problems with the medicine and I am almost 37 weeks pregnant. Good luck and yes, my sister is very knowledgeable so you can fm either me or her with any questions

I take Folgard and when I am cycling (I do IVF) I take Lovenox (40mg) twice a day

I have MTHFR also and I take Lovenox inj. 40milligrams 1X a day. Started those when I got my BFP. The shots are not too bad- my dh gives them to me.
I go to a RE/high risk specialist b/c I had trouble TTC and it was found I had also had endometriosis that needed to be removed.
The dr has me on Precare Premier Premnatals- they have high levels of vitamion b.
Also on additional1mg of Folic Acid as well a baby aspirin a day.
I am on some other things as well, not entirely sure if they are related to the Mthfr or not.
