Mrs. King's funeral "controversy"
Apprantly, some people feel that comments made about peace, wire tapping, etc. were aimed at President Bush, who was in attendance.
Personally, I believe that the great Mrs. King and her husband were political figures who stood for many things, and the speakers were right to honor that huge part of their lives.
Your thoughts?

Seriously, I think Jimmy Carter has done great things after his presidency. Has been an activist for peace and I see no big deal with his speach. Chances are it's true, I would not doubt it, but why must people focus on 2 sentences of that speech rather then the way people honored her????

I agree that this the right way to honor Martin Luther & Corretta Scott King and the things for which they lived & died.

The article talked mostly about Pres Carter but many others made references to peace and political issues. Did you see Maya Angelou's mention of peace in her eulogy? I thought she was amazing!

I think maybe they made mention since they were political figures. Maya Angelou is awesome!
