More worried now when dh leaves?? UPDATE - maybe it's more "intuition?"

My dh went skiing today with a friend of his... normally totally fine with me. But I keep having these thoughts of things that could God forbid happen to him. I think I told him to "be careful" about 20 times and kept reminding him not to do anything stupid because me and baby need him. I totally trust him to be careful, but the only time I seem to not be really worried is when he's right next to me!! And I'm not usually like that at ALL! I usually kind of like when we have our own things going on because we always miss each other when we're not together, but this worrying sucks!

Anyone worry more than usual when DH is "away" now that you're pregnant?

UPDATE - so my DH called after being in the E.R. all afternoon. He broke his clavical. Unbelievable. He hit a slushy patch skiing since it's been so warm and it sent him flying and he landed on his neck/head. That's that stupid fine line between having a "feeling" and not living in a bubble all the time. Sucks. Now he'll be home from work for 4-6 weeks. I could look at the silver lining and thank God that's ALL that happened, right?

I don't overly get worried than usual because I've become used to having to not let it get to me. DH is a cop and works in a pretty dangerous area, so if I felt that way each time he walked out the door, I'd drive myself nuts.

But I can understand how you can start feeling antsy and worried about your DH's well-being. Hopefully the fear/worry won't be so bad for you as time goes on.

I worry also. Everytime DH wants to do something that seems even remotely risky I get upset. Everything changes when its more than just the two of you.

100% !!!!!!!!!!! My DH is a NYC firefighter so when he leaves for work I freak out more than I normally would ...

Oh no!!! I'm glad he's OK - I mean broken clavicle $ucks, but it could be worse. I definitely think it was your intuition!! Your Mommy gene is kicking in big time!

Thank you all! He is in a LOT of pain! It looks like he has a softball on his left upper chest. Yikes!
