DS is only 2 weeks but I have found that some nights he just won't go to sleep unless he is on top of pillow on top of me or against my body. That's how he sleeps best. He does not always like his bassinet.

Of course, he sleeps great during the day.

I know it is early and he is adjusting.

Some people suggested a swing (which I did not buy yet.. DH does not think they are safe!).

Did any of you used something similar to this below? Did it work for you?

I wouldn't bother, I would just kick my husband out into the spare bedroom, make a nest of pillows and put the baby in bed with me.

Oh wait, thats what I did!!!

I'm thinking of getting one if DS does not take to his crib...DD slept better on a mattress from the start....luckily the transition to her crib was easy.

I'm hoping for the same with DS.....

We have the exact product pictured. We do use it in our bed but it is mostly around 10-11 when DH and I are watching TV and DD is not quite asleep but getting there...

She usually falls asleep in it but DH and I don't feel comfortable having her sleep there during the night so I always transfer her to her crib. I would think if your DS needs to be touching you then this product won't work for you....

That is pretty cool. Where did you get it?

I just prop pillows for DD.
She is used to her bassinet but when DH isnt home to sleep, I let her stay in bed with me.

We have that exact one too and I dont neccesarily love it.

The side things are not very secure ( they velcro in ) and so If DS wiggles, they lossen just enough that he slips down and I would be afraid if sleeping he would get stuck inbetween them.

He also just doesnt seem to like it as much as physically laying in the bed in our arms sort of.

But I do use it when we are watching TV or when Im up and about in the bedroom and he is awake but I can see him and dont want him just laying on the bed.

I used that exact one. DS loved it. We used it with a second tighter positioner so he could not wiggle out of it.

DD never took to the cradle or crib so we got one. She barely slept in that either so we gave it away...

We never used them. My oldest slept on my chest for about 3 months. (no lie) And all 3 of my kids at one point slept in between us with out that. (Sometimes all 3 of them at the same time!Chat Icon )

We used the inside portion until last week. She couldn't sleep at night without it. But you do have to watch to make sure they don't slide down.

I hope its the same product but I do remember seeing something somewhere ( sorry so vague) about these positioners and how they can be dangerous if your baby gets its face up against those middle parts - they have no space to breath and it can be quite dangerous - dont mean to scare but I do recall seeing this.Chat Icon

Yeah, I just wouldn't feel comfortable using something like that. My son will only go to sleep (when DH has him) on DH's chest (they can hear their hearts beating easily and it's soothing and reminds them of the womb) so he has to wait for a while to make sure he's really out OR have me feed him before "bedtime" otherwise he wakes up when put in his crib.

Re: Moms with baby who will only sleep with them/on them - did you use that product?

I used something like that but without the sleep positioner. It was the First Years Close & Secure Sleeper. She slept in it a few times, but really prefered sleeping on my mattress right next to me. I think the thing was not cushy enough for her. She still sleeps in my bed.

If you get one of those, just know they grow out of it VERY quickly. DD was too big for hers after a month or so and I sold it on ebay.
