Moms who had a v-birth AND a c-section

I had two fairly uncomplicated v-births with my first 2 kids and then had a very bad, traumatic emergency c-section with my third, 11 weeks ago. With my first 2, my body bounced back no problem with very little effort on my part. But this time, I am struggling to lose the weight, my belly area refuses to "tone up" no matter what I do, and it is difficult to exercise a lot because I still have a lot of muscle pain in my lower abdomen.

My question is for ladies who have had both: Do you find it SOOO much harder to get back into shape after a c-section, or it just that this is my 3rd baby and my body has given up? Chat Icon What did you do differently after the c-section to get your body back? I am really struggling with this becasue I feel so fat & ugly, so any advice you have would be great! TIA!

Re: Moms who had a v-birth AND a c-section

I had a V-birth with my first and also a traumautic C-section with my second. I was so swollen the first few weeks and I was in a lot of pain for the first month, and still couldn't really exercise well until about 4 months pp.

I am so much better now and my body is slowly coming back. I do A LOT of cardio and situps and although my belly is still there( and probably will be until I wean my son from BF), it getting better. I was also TONS bigger with my second son(he was 8pd 4on. and my DD was only 6 pd 10oz) so I expected it to take longer.

Hang in there- it takes a bit longer but I am actually thinner than I was after my DD. It just takes timeChat Icon

Absolutely! My first was a c-section. It took so much longer to drop the weight & I never got my shape back at all. My second was a VBAC. I definately lost the weight much faster. I got my figure back faster too (and by that I mean the figure I developed after my first pregnancy. My bikini body is gone for good Chat Icon).
