Moms of sons

SMALL TERM LOAN

How well I remember the day he was born,

My task was finished, I was tired and worn.

And when I was told you loaned me a son,

I said a prayer to thank You, for this

“little one”.

You made his face so cute and round,

You made his mind so sharp and sound,

You made his hair so curly and long,

You made his body so healthy and strong,

You made his heart so full of love,

And then sent him to me from above.

And when I held him close and near,

The weariness left me,

I will filled with happiness and

Dreams of things to be.

I saw him growing straight and tall,

And kissing me good-bye to go play ball.

I saw him climbing fences and trees,

And running to me with tears and scraped knees.

I saw him start off to his first day of school,

The tears wouldn’t stay back, I was such a fool!

Then I stopped to hug him and to enjoy right now,

Things would change, they do somehow.

There will be times for joy and gladness,

There will be times for sorrow and sadness,

But when he puts his arms around you,

At two or twenty-one, you may finally understand

why every mother needs a son.
