Mom's of older babies-diaper changing question

How often or when do you change their diapers. I am finding i am only changing them 4 times a day(unless there is poop)
When they wake up
After 1st nap
After 2nd nap
Before bed

Is this enough-they don't get diaper rashes or anything....

Ds is two, so about every three hours or so. He probably has 6 changes a day whether he needs them or not, just makes me feel better. Plus he will ONLY poop in a fresh diaper. He will hold it for hours until you put a clean diaper on him, LOL

I have the same schedule as you. No diaper rash or leaks here.
They always have a poopy diaper after nap #1.

I would think if they don't get any rashes, that's enough... unless there's poop I change DD -

When she wakes up
Before her first nap
After her nap when she finishes her bottle
before her PM nap
when she wakes from her PM nap
Bedtime

every 2-3 hours. even if there is just a little pee. his bottom gets red if i don't.

so he gets about 5 changes:

8:30, 11:30, 3:00 (after nap), 5:00 and 7:00.

and more if/when he poops Chat Icon

DS gets changed about 4-6 times a day. Unless we have a super poopy day. So, about every 2-3 hours. If Im out and about with him, Im sure its less. He rarely complains with a wet diaper. Only poops.

Well, DD's not a baby anymore, she's 2, but I'll answer.

She's changed every 2-2.5 hours, obviously more often if she poops. She never complains about a wet or poop diaper, but she had a UTI a year ago so I'm neurotic.

Waking up
Before or After each meal, depends
Immediately before bed, even if fast asleep (otherwise we leak at night)

Re: Mom's of older babies-diaper changing question

DS usually gets changed after naps/sleep, unless we feel the diaper is soaked. He gets changed:

In the morning after bottle and wake up.
After 1st nap
Before 2nd nap if diaper is wet/after nap.
Before we pick him up after work.
Before bedtime.

Maybe max of 5 times. 4 if he wasn't wet before 2nd nap.

Re: Mom's of older babies-diaper changing question

I still do every 2-3 hours. We really have never had a problem with rashes and I don't want to ever have to deal with a bad one if frequent changes help avoid it. More often if he poops, and of course he waits for the clean diaper before pooping now.

I always put a clean diaper on him before a nap and before he goes to bed - he pees a lot when he sleeps and leaks if I don't put him down dry.

I'd say we change DD about 5-6 times a day.
