Moms of 20 Month Olds (and around that age)~ Nap Question...

What time does your little one take their nap?
Alex has been giving me trouble lately.
She used to go down around 10:30-11 am, we did great with this for ages, but hasn't napped for me lately. I am trying to get her to nap now at a later time, around 3 or 4, she's only done it maybe once or twice...Most time she'll just chill in her crib.
She's sleeing good at night (approx. 12 hrs of sleep), but she's still kind of young to not have a nap.Chat Icon
Ugh.
Just looking to see what the general nap time is for her age I guess, and for everyone to tell me that this too shall passChat Icon .

My son is 21 months. He goes down at 11ish and sleeps until at least 2pm. He has always been a good sleepeer, napper. Although if I have someplace to go I just keep him up later and nap him when I get home. Yesterday he went down at 2:30 and I woke him at 5pm. Then back in bed by 8 pm.

ETA: I would still put her down, even if she doesn't sleep, it is some down time for her and hopefully she will still fall sleep at some point.

Ryan is 19 months and takes a nap normally from about 11-2, sometimes longer. Plus he sleeps 12 hours a night. He is sleeping more than he is up during the day!

Lately, he has been giving me a problem with going to bed (nap and nighttime). He cries and screams and puts up a huge fight when he knows it's time for bed. Once he is in his crib, he is fine within 10 minutes. If he doesn't get a nap in, he is a royal PITA!

Logan has been napping much better, he was never a good napper and usually slept through the night, but about 10 hours 8:30-6/6:30. His bedtime routine is still the same, but he has been napping for at least two hours and going down between 12 and 2

DD's nap at that age was usually between 1-2pm for about 3 hours. Now she goes down about the same time but is starting to sleep less.

Hey Andrea,
Spencer takes a nap at 12pm. Usually about 2 hrs. He goes to sleep at 8pm-8:30pm and he wakes up about 6-6:30am. Hope Alex gets back to a nap soon. Do you think maybe a fan (you can point it towards the wall) may stop any noises keeping her up.

Re: Moms of 20 Month Olds (and around that age)~ Nap Question...

Andrea, olivia has the same nap time. i do have playgroups that she attends in the morning so i try to keep her up so she is really tired. it used to be 1030-11for naps now its more like 12-1 and when i nap her later i some times get 2-3 hours naps instead of an hour and a half. which works for me since i nap when she does. i find the playgroup before nap does her in pretty well. only thing is she doesnt go to sleep till 930-10pm

Well you know how old Jacob is...Chat Icon and he naps usually at 12/12:30, and I wake him after ONE hour. If he goes past 2pm with his nap he will be up until 10/11pm. And I just cant have that. Chat Icon

Some days, if he wakes at like 6am ish he will go in at 11:30 and I let him sleep till 1:30 if he's still sleeping. But that is rare. My son has NEVER been a good sleeper/napper, so one hour is really all he ever naps for.

And then there are the days that he only naps for 10 min in the car and yes he will go to sleep at 6:45/7pm.. but ITS GETTING TO THAT TIME WITHOUT KILLING MYSELF THAT IS HARD!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

And yes, i usually give him lunch at around 2pm, but is just nit picking. He never eats a good lunch.... good luck!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Moms of 20 Month Olds (and around that age)~ Nap Question...

I used to put my girls down at 10:30-11am but now they are waking up later.

So Reese and Syd go down at 11:30 and sleep until 1:00-1:30

I put them down for the night at 7pm everyday.

Maybe give her lunch and then put her down or do a morning activity and then put her down...Good luck!
