Moms of 2 or more and had a CSection....

Just wondering how long your DH stayed home with you after the baby was born. I want DH to say home at least 2 weeks because I dont know how I am gonna be able to lift DD when she needs to be picked up.

I want to be somewhat healed and feeling much better before he goes back to work. Is that mean of me to ask him to take off more than a week?

I don't think so at all as long as he can do it at his job. Though I will say-after 1 week I felt MUCH better but I didn't have another baby to pick up so I guess I'm no help!Chat Icon

If he can take the time off, absolutely! I was surprised at how much better I felt after my second and third c section, maybe b/c they were planned. After 4 days in the hospital and the two extra days home, I did feel much better.

I couldn't pick my older ones up, but they knew mommy had a boo boo and if they needed cuddle time I would sit on a catch and they would climb up and sit next to me.

I did have a neighbor and some other family members help with my oldest when I had my third b/c I couldn't drive for awhile and they were able to take her back and forth to school.

Maybe you can play it by ear and see how you feel each day. Chat Icon

I've had two c-sections and my DH didn't really take any time with either. DD#1: home from the hospital on a Sunday--he went back to work on Monday. DD#2: home from the hospital on Friday--he went back to work on Monday.

If anything, I would have needed help managing the two children (they're 20 mos apart), nothing to do with the c-sections. I felt it was unnecessary and thought what were we going to do...stare at each other all day long? Chat Icon Also, before anyone goes thinking my DH is a monster, he is in private practice; he also owns his own small business and he is an adjunct professor (when the girls were born, it was during pivotal times during the semester: first and last weeks)--so not necessarily the traditional "worker." I swear, he's a good dad! Chat Icon

I don't think it's mean of you at all...but you may feel a lot better than you think. Can you play it by ear?

My DH will definitely take a week off & then probably go back. I'll have my mom here though to help w/ DD & his mom is a phone call away. If you don't have any other help around, I'd see if he can stay home longer.

you see i have help (my mom) but I dont think she will offer that much to me. She is looking forward to not watching any kids the 2 months I am off. I defintely already told him to work while i am in the hospital...just maybe get off a couple hours earlier to come see me with Paige. No need for him to take off from work while in the hospital.

(my ds is super high maintanance.)

I had a c-section for my #1 and since it was our first child, DH took a week off from work.

After #2?? Chat Icon I had a v-birth, but came home on a Monday (after having her Saturday) to a 2 year old and he dropped me at home and then went to work. The only day of work he missed after #2 was Saturday, the day she was born! Chat Icon
