Mommies: Why do all the books I read tell me it's important to put a fan in the babies room?
I get that it decreases the risk of SIDS, but HOW does it do that?

it prevents the buildup of carbon dioxide around the child because all the air is circulating in the room -is the premise

It helps circulate the air... so its not just stale air the baby is breathing...
I guess just in case the baby does get close to a SIDS type of position, if a fan is on it circulates the air a little more...
I am just assuming...

It helps to circulate the air.
We have a ceiling fan in DS' room and no AC. Personally (and this is just my opinion) I like not having AC in his room, I don't want him to be too used to it.

Like others said, air circulation. We already had one in there, but it was nice to know it was helping.

I recently have heard this too..i guess it keeps the air flowing???? we just put one in DS's room and he is 2 years old

the circulation moves carbon dioxide away from baby's mouth and nose. we have had a fan since day one.

We put a ceiling fan in, but Im sure you could just have a fain somewhere in the room if you wanted.
