Miserable! Help! i am in heartburn h e l l!
My illness (looked like bronchitis) is much better! No more drip for about a day or so!
We are on the train to Florida. My update-13DPO. Slightly crampy-improves depending on how full my bladder is, peeing constantly, boobs huuuurrrttt (but in my world, that means nada), I sleep like a pro, back hurts a bit. Yada yada yada.
But this is throwing me through a loop. I awoke from a peaceful nap, yet again, with horrible heartburn. I ate only light non acidic foods-nope no help. Cut out caffeine-nothing. I am trying everything. I consumed a half of a bottle of Pepto. In a half of a day. Water gives me heartburn. I have not added or changed medications. I also have a bad taste in my mouth. I am seriously someone who NEVER gets this?
Help! Ideas? Sounds promising? Lay it on me-i am stuck on a train!
I am bored, so feel free to entertain me!

bread, crackers - it will soak up some of the acid causing the issues...
tums smoothies are a GODSEND....
if you can get some - zantac or prilosec...

I have severe acid reflux and what makes me feel better when it acts up is a piece or two of minty gum and ginger ale. Anything minty will help...won't cure it, but when it flares it will definitely help to neutralize the acid. Feel better!

I agree with the ginger ale. That is my cure all.

for me - pepto has NEVER ever helped...no. I have the same issue that you're talking about - post nasal drip acid reflux. I've even had SILENT gerd (silent acid reflux - no symptoms but a cough that doesn't go away)...it's VERY brutal.
if you can - get a script for nexxium...it's OUTSTANDING stuff...

Re: Miserable! Help! i am in heartburn h e l l!
you do have post nasal drip though sweety and it can affect your throat in the same way....whenever i'm sick and have bad post nasal drip - i have the same problem with heartburn....
i know more than anything in the world - you want this to be a symptom...and if you are concerned about that - Tums Smoothies are the way to go...they are good to use when pregnant as well.

I don't have post nasal drip anymore-went away. And its never been a side effect. Thanks for the advice about the Tums-i will take them-and TRUST ME-this is a symptom I don't want-i didn't even know it was a symptom! I won't be a happy camper with heartburn for 9 mos!
Not reading into things this month-what will be will be!

yeah - that's one symptom i didn't know either...but it BLOWS....it kept me awake one night until 6:00 in the morning - sucking on ice pops....and that only helped a TINY bit..
i hope you feel better!!! Try Zantac if it gets that bad....my SIL got me some for Christmas as part of my 'pregnancy package'...she swore by it...

Re: Miserable! Help! i am in heartburn h e l l!
It is a symptom, but also can be from the post nasal drip. The only times I've had heartburn is now (6 weeks pg), which is a killer, and when I am getting over a sinus infection. It could go either way for you, I hope it's a symptom!! When are you testing?

Heartburn, as bad as it is, is a very good sign (assuming this isn't something normal for you, which it doesn't seem to be).
Good luck!

I had terrible heartburn with DD (although I before I got PG, I used to get mild heartburn). I second the Tums Smoothies. I buy them in bulk!!

just FYI - Pepto is a no-no during pregnancy, so I wouldnt take it while TTC either!
