MIL vent.LONG sorry
Why oh Why does she always have to put a negative spin on things, tell me it could have been done cheaper etc.. it's like nothing is EVER good enough. I am SO FREAKING ANNOYED right now. I love my MIL, we have a good relationship, but sometimes, I just get so freaking tired of explaining myself. She is always telling me she did this that and the other thing when her boys were growing up. Which is WONDERFUL, but she was a SAHM. I work FULL TIME, and go to school part time, and try to be the best mommy possible, best wife possible, etc.. etc...
The latest today. My DH and I are really excited about favores we got for DS bday, they came out sooo darn cute. My DH brought it over to show MIL. she calls me up right away and says"you know you can get those containers at the dollar store, I dont know how much you paid for these, but you could have done it yourself and saved a lot of $$" I was just like, I got them for a very fair price, and in what moments should I be painting these? Inbetween studying for my microbiology exams, lunch break at work? while changing my DS diaper?????

My DH is so sweet. I just complained to him a bit...and he emailed me this
"Another thing, try not to pay attention to her when she does puts a spin on things. I have to hear it every other day about different things, but it still doesn't make it right. I'm sorry my little pumpkin"

Next time tell her that okay. when i decide to do something i will call you before i do so you can tell me where i can get it cheaper and since you seem to be an expert then you wouldnt mind helping me out... then maybe she will get the hint...
My MIL always says i would never tell you what to do but....
sometimes we just have to learn to ignore EVEN THOUGH ITS VERY HARD AT TIMES. if i didnt do this i would be arguing with my husband everynight about his Mother...
Hang in there.. and dont worry about what she has to say bc in the long run as long as you and dh like it then who cares what she has to say....
and i look at it this way you DS will turn 1 ony once so do what ever you want to do!!!!
