Mercy hospital in RVC.....
Did anyone hear that they don't have a maternity ward anymore? My DH is a Fireman, and he heard from one of his EMT friends that the maternity ward lost a lot of its funds, so they had to close it down??? 
I didn't believe it when he told me, but was wondering if anyone else heard anything.

I didn't hear that. I delivered there last yr. I know they no longer have a Pediatric Wing and that Franklin closed down its Maternity Ward.

I know someone that delivered there in feb.
If it was true, I am surprised it was not made more public or that dr were not notified.

I haven't asked my Dr yet so we shall see, I had DD there in '05 and I remember everything looking so new there. weird....

My mom still works there. They still have Maternity and Labor and Delivery and both NICU and the regular nursery. There is NO PEDIATRIC unit though.. So if you have to RETURN to the hospital with baby, you will be sent to schneiders or NUMC..

I just delivered there is August and LOVED THEM. Didnt hear anything. If it is true-its sadcause its one of the few level three hospitals for newborns.

My DH friend must of ment the pediatric unit!! Thanks!
I couldn't see them closing down the maternity ward, I had a great experience there too!
