Meals for an 11 month old

I am running out of ideas of what to give Carlie for dinner. She eats lunch at school and does very well with the variety of foods they give her. At home it is another story. All she wants is her bottle and Cheerios. Any suggestions? What is your 11-month old eating? Thanks.

Pretty much anything's a go now!Chat Icon
As long as it's not fried and the sodium content isn't high, I let her try it.Chat Icon
She loves chicken, turkey meatballs (I make them kind of plain for her), soups, stews, pasta, mac & cheese, yogurt, cheerios, fruits, steamed veggies, sweet potatoes, homemade butternut squash, baked pears & apples (to soften them up), etc...
We tried a touch of tomato sauce on a turkey meatball the other day but it didn't agree w/ her-too acidic I guess.

for those who are eating a wide variety of "real foods", did you stop giving baby food?

yes....she just refused it....wants to feed herself. I can get her to eat the fruits/fruit desserts, but only half a container at a time or I mix it with oatmeal or cottage cheese.

We didn't. Emma gets both because there are still some baby foods that she enjoys.

I still try the jarred stuff, but she likes to feed herself.
She mostly refuses it, but on occasion, I can get some jarred food into her.

Re: Meals for an 11 month old

My girls are still not eating a full meal of something I made. They love to pick but. I never know how much is enough. And they get bored really quickly. they prefer the jars. I have to just keep trying.

Thanks! So she is down to 2 bottles? I think I am going to start weening her 3 pm bottle (she gets 3 others with breakfast, lunch and dinner) and just replace it with a snack. We are going to be starting milk soon, so I think this may be a good time.

Not to hijack the thread, but Alex has 2 bottles a day, then just some sips of bottles when she's having a meal (usually an ounce or 2 at most).
Do your babies still have bottles when they have a meal? Do they have water instead? Nothing?
I feel like she needs a drink- to wash everything down.Chat Icon

Re: Meals for an 11 month old

Sorry! I missed the bedtime bottle.....
3 bottles...I make them 8 oz but she'll take anywhere from 2 oz to 5 oz. Maybe I should eliminate a bottle?? hmmmm.... I was worried about her cutting back but the dr said as long as she's having wet diapers not to worry.

Andrea: she gets watered down apple juice at breakfast and when she finishes it, plain water. She wakes up REALLY thirsty.
