lunch vent- this is why i hate working!!!
so... i work at a school, last year they put a note on the fridge saying " thermal bags do not need to be refridgerated no thermal bags in the fridge" apparently they were taking up too much room or something....BUT sometimes i bring tuna or stuff with mayo, and don't feel comfortable leaving it unrefridgerated for 4 hours till i eat. i also don't want to just take my sandwich out and leav it loose in there when so many people go in and out of the fridge. so i've just been sticking my thermal bag in there..
WELL, today i go there and my bag is on the table, out of the fridge! i understand if someone had to move it to get to their lunch, but they could at least put it back in the fridge! sooo annoying! now my soda is sort of warm, and so is my sandwich WITH MAYO!

That is crazy. Thermal bag or no thermal bag, you have every right to put your lunch in the fridge.
And unless there is an ICE COLD icepak in there, it is NOT going to stay cold.
Call out tomorrow and say it is food poisoning.

Have you considered getting those ice packs for your thermal bag?? they work very well. Or put your lunch in a regular bag so no one is touching your stuff and it won't take up too much room in the fridge.

its just soo stupid! i work for a school district, and 2 days a week i'm at another school in the district, and that other school has NO problem with room in the fridge... i don't think the thermal bags are the problem here, i think its the people who bring like 5 plastic containers for of leftovers and try and fit them in teh fridge!
and you're right- i have every right to keep my lunch in the fridge and want it to be cold! this is the first time this has happened, so it could jsut be an accident that somebody forgot to put my lunch back in, but stil... the whole "Rule" is just rediculus!

yeah... i might try the ice packs from now on.... i like using a thermal bag becasue then i don't feel like i'm making a lot of trash by throwing the brown lunch bags out all the time, plus i bring cans of soda, so the thermal bag is stronger...

I don't even go near the refrigerator in my office. People I work with surprise me with their filthy habits and I'd never even consider putting my food in there. It smells, it's dirty and there is always tons of old stuff in there.
