Luau/Hawaiian theme-- party ideas

Trying to find some cool ideas for DD's 2nd b-day party. I am most likely doing a Hawaiian Luau theme.

Any fun ideas? Just going to be a backyard party for family & friends, a few kids...but I want to make it very special.

I want to make her cake, so any ideas you can find online for that would be great.

I plan on having hula hoops, limbo (not sure if that's even Hawaiian, but it's fun ) and that's it for ideas so far.

I am NOT doing a pig roast though-- I know it's customary for luaus, but I'm not into that.

The 1st thing that came to mind for the cake was a 3D Hawaiin girl dancer
( like those 3d Barbie cakes with the top half of the girl doll sticking out of the cake , looking like a hula-skirt)

The kids could make their own fruit kabobs....

I had a luau theme for my older DDs 1st birthday. I didn't go above and beyond though...some little touches that made it festive were tiki torches and assorted Hawaiian decor; my DH and I wore "Hawaiian" clothing. We played Hawaiian music (which I believe we picked up at Party City) all day. I also bought nametags with a hibiscus border and found a website through which you could translate everyone's first name into their Hawaiian name. For example, I remember my DH's--Peter--was Pekelo!
