Lost Iphone

I am beyond upset and its all my fault - i lost my iphone...

I managed to track it but was unable to recover it.. so it did a remote wipe, changed almost all online email and bank acct passwords - including itunes.

Can y'all think of anything else I need to do to safeguard myself?Chat Icon

Re: Lost Iphone

I would put an alert on your credit report with the big credit reporting agencies. I would also make them call you before any new credit cards are opened and would lock your credit so new cards can't be opened.

Re: Lost Iphone

That stinks!

This has happened to my sister twice, but both times she got it back. The last time was at Adventureland, she left it at the ticket window, and the girl was trying to keep it. It kept locating to that area, she searched for an hour, got the security guard involved, ran all around the park, looked in the garbages in that area it was locating, all the while pregnant! Kept sending alerts to it, and after much back and forth, the girl said it was at the window. Punks.

Ugh, people just stink!!!!

The first time she lost it was in Target and the people took it home to like Shirley or something! She had to threaten to call the police to get it back, and they were really nasty about it. People are just such a$$holes. I would never DREAM of taking a phone I found. In fact, I found one in Target on a shelf of clothes the other day. I grabbed it, the person called from another phone and I met her at the service desk to pick it up a few minutes later. She couldn't remember where she left it. I wouldn't have even trusted the service desk people to give it to her had she went to the counter.

Hopefully it the person who finds it will ultimately do the right thing Chat Icon

Re: Lost Iphone

I wonder if there is a registry with apple or your carrier that you can tell them your phone was stolen so if someone tries to get a new number for it, they can confiscate it and call you/the police.

Re: Lost Iphone

Just to update those of you who responded.
The phone went offline at around 6pm.. so Ifind couldn't keep tracking the location. I proceeded to do the remote wipeChat Icon if someone does get it when they hook it up to any computer the wipe will then process. Lets hope some techy person doesn't have it and do something with the phone to retrieve my info.

As pp suggested im going to call apple and att again and see if i can register that IMEI # as stolen/lost...

There is nothing else I can do... the battery or the snow probably killed the phone.

Tx to those who respondedChat Icon
