Little Red Bumps under my sons eyes could this be an allergy???UPDATE AT BOTTOM

they are very red at times and seem to flair up through out the day. they dont seem to be itching him as he isnt rubbing at them.

they are all through the creases under the eye and nowhere else. is this an allergy to food do you think??

It could be, but it might just be a skin irritation. Have you given him any new foods in the past couple of days?

Sound like an allergy. My Dr. said to look for redness under the eyes and around the wrists.

I don't have any advise. There are probably many different types of contact dermatitis, but one example is poison ivy. My mom got a very bad case of it gardening and had to take steroids for it. I hope he feels better soon. Chat Icon

ETA: Do you have a dog? They can carry it on their fur and if you pet them, you can pick it up from them.

I think that just means the typical skin irritation....could be from a pet allergy, laundry detergent, etc. It may not be serious. If you need the cream for it to go away, I'd use it sparingly and then stop it once the rash goes away. IMO the creams aren't that harmful if you use them only when needed.

I think they say you shouldn't use many strong creams around their face ALL the time bc it could lead to discoloration....but that is serious overuse. My dd has pretty severe excema and we have steriod creams to use - but once the rash goes away, we stop it and take a break.

the thing is the rash is only around the eye wont the cream go in the eye if he rubs them ??Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Little Red Bumps under my sons eyes could this be an allergy???UPDATE AT BOTTOM

DD was born with pretty bad contact dermititis, whenever anyone would touch her, her skin would turn red, like a rash. She's 5 months and it has gotten better but you can still tell she has it. She also gets the little pimples around the eyes but they usually don't last long. I mentioned it to the ped. and she said that it was common for babies with that type of skin. That is the only experience I have with it- her eyes never got bloodshot and it always gets better pretty quickly.
DD also has bad eczema at times and she is given a dose of steroid as well as Locoid cream. I only put the cream on VERY sparingly and only for a couple of days- as soon as I see improvement I stop and just use her normal cream.
I wish I could be of more help- I hope your little one feels better soon!
