LIJ & NSUH
Hello - can anyone explain the difference of these two places to me. I keep looking online and they seem to be the same place. Also what are people's experience with them. We are thinking of trying for NSUH since we live close to their but trying to find a dr at the same time.. Thanks for your input!!

they are 2 different hospitals but within the same health system. i am delivering at nsuh and i have a great group of dr's affiliated w/ that hosp. FM me if you want their info.

I delivered at both and had a "better" experience at NSUH-Manhasset.

I work for NS-LIJ - its a large conglomerate - Huntington Hospital is a great hospital - I'm hoping I'll get to give birth there when the time comes!

I couldn't decide if I wanted LIJ or Manhasset and finally decided on the latter.

I delivered at North Shore - Manhasset and loved loved my experience there.
There were lactation experts on call, the nurses were wonderful - a couple of my friends delivered at LIJ and weren't too thrilled about their experience.
But everyone / situation is different. I would totally recommend North Shore though.
ETA - 900 Northern Boulevard has some wonderful OBGYN that are affiliated w/North Shore - FM if you want more info.
