learning how to cook
If you had a lot of time (and some extra resources) - what's the best way to learn how to cook?

I'd love to do some classes, but I don't really have the time for that. I actually started to learn at work of all places. My boss asked me to help out with in office events and we did a lot of the cooking ourselves to save money. I learned a lot from her- like how to properly chop and stuff like that.
Since quarantine, I've taught myself a lot more- mostly just following recipes for dishes that sounded good. If there's anything I'm ever unsure of, I google it and watch a YouTube video.

If I wanted to learn how to cook at a professional level, definitely cooking school. In terms of improving my techniques for meals at home, I'd prefer to teach myself.
I do really like going to those random cooking classes, but it's more about the socialization, the eating, and the new experience than learning long-term skills for me, personally.

From my experience, it was figuring it out on my own. I studied restaurant management and part of that was to take professional cooking classes. While it helped, I learned best by figuring it out on my own.

I did it on my own when I got married at 21. Just started following recipes.
Classes sound good though and I enjoy watching cooking shows.
