Land Survey
We got the final paper work for the mortgage and now we found out we need to get land survey done before 6 months after the closing date.
I am asking bank if this is included in the closing costs or extra but I wanted to know how much do they cost if this falls on us? Also what is involved?
There is a land survey company right on my parents block but before I march in to find out figured to ask here.

It depends on the size of your property and how much information is on it. But for purposes of a Title survey it ranges from $800-$1000. You can get it for cheaper if you shop around. Some surveyors charge less. Make sure it's done by a surveyor with sign and seal, not an architect.

We had to get a new one done too. If you contact the company that did the original one, they will do a new one for a lot cheaper then you'd have to pay for a new one with a new company.
We did this and we also had our lawyer's office order it b/c that way we were able to pay it at closing and not have to pay upfront.
Ours was $500 and our lot size is 100x154

i dont remember $ wise or when we paid for it but we got the survey BEFORE we closed

K thank you i rather it be included in closing costs since that is paid for us. I doubt i can find the original survey company the last one done was in 1952 and the person who would know is dead. I have public records on the house i will try to find a stamp or something.

We are in contract, and the seller had to get a new one and it cost him $800.

We need one too and we bought the house from my mom  It was $575.00, our attorney hooked us up with the surveryor. Our lot is a 1/2 acre. We paid the surveryor at closing. But I know others that had to pay prior.
