ladies who have moved oos or off the island?
how do you find good reputable doctors? DH and i are going to be moving upstate sometime in nov or dec. and im worried about finding a new OB, a Ped, and family doc that i can trust and has a good bedside mannor as well as other things. I happen to love all my doctors i have here and am EXTREMELY sad to say good bye to them. and honestly dont know how to go about looking elsewhere for a good doc.
please help im VERY picky!

I've never lived in NY but I know that there is a website that you can get doctor's reviews...something like ratemymd.com...

I asked co-workers, neighbors, and my old doctors for recommendations. I also looked in my insurance company manual and looked for the best local hospital. I only picked people affiliated with that hospital.

I have lived in many different states and this is what I did. Plus, once you find one Dr you like you can ask him/her for recommendations. I also look into what the best hospitals are in an area and find Drs affiliated with them.

I asked friends and coworkers who lived in the area. The first bunch of people I asked all recommended the same practice.
How far upstate are you moving?

were going to orange county. We unfortunately dont know anyone up there except one person. wont be working so i wont have coworkers but DH will so ill have him ask around.

I moved halfway through my pregnancy with DD.
I asked my Dr. for a referral but I ended up asking my coworkers for recommendations once I got here. I'm very happy with the choice.
