Ladies who are expecting twins or who have had twins..
Just curious...does it run in your family? I just wonder how likely it is to have twins if its something that runs in the family. If it does, does it run from your mother or your father's side?

I thought you have to have twins on your side for twins to be a possibility....that is what i heard anyway but i maybe wrong...

If I remember this correctly, fraternal twins run on the mothers side because releasing two eggs at once can be genetic. Identical twins have nothing to do with running in the family and can happen to anyone because the egg just spits.

Yup, that's exactly right! I have 2 sets of twins in my family (my mom has identical twin sisters and fraternal twin brothers) so I've read and researched a lot about this!

Yup, that's exactly right! I have 2 sets of twins in my family (my mom has identical twin sisters and fraternal twin brothers) so I've read and researched a lot about this!
This is correct.....
Now to totally throw you off..
I have had 2 sets of identical twins....

my mother's father is an ID twin
my husband's mother's father is a FR twin...
