Katie Couric
Just gave her goodbye speech on the Today Show. She's leaving end of May to go to CBS/Sixty Minutes.
On her own she sometimes annoys me, but I have to say I love the way their whole crew interacts.

im not into her
i still remember how horrible i felt for her when she lost her husband
but i dont see whats so great about her in general...
i find her cold... and her double eye liner annoys me...also the spaced out lashes

But there is a bit of a hold up on Meredith getting out of her 'Who Wants to be a Milionare" contract.. (her contract with The View expires soon)

I think its definitely Meredith Viera who I really don't like. She strikes as one of those people who thinks her way is the only right way.

I'd be surprised if Meredith too it- she left hard news years ago for her family, and her kids aren't grown. And her husband has MS, that's got to be draining. Then again, she'd be leaving two shows to do 1. But there would be a lot more pressure.

I think if Meredith would take the job,you'd all see a whole different side to her. I have known her personally since I could remember. My dad was her working partner way back when she was at CBS. This women is the exact OPPOSITE of what you perceive. She is warm,quirky,loving, plain jane-almost "Hippie-ish". My parents always comment how they are so happy for her and proud of her for how far she has gotten. She is actually very similar to Katie and I think a good replacement.
I know what you guys mean about a certain coldness to her,I think she is told how to act/be. For ex. The View,you have it all: someone is the comedian,someone young,someone gossipy, and someone to bring them all back to the topic when they get off course.
I wish her luck but strongly doubt Katie will do that well in a strictly news setting.

 Not a Couric fan....she better hope she gets the ratings CBS expects of her because that company doesn't take too kindly to low ratings.
