Just wanted to share b/c no one ever believes this!
I went to Jones Beach for the first time yesterday!
I couldn't believe how crowded it was on a Monday morning!
I don't think I'd go again!

Don't know if you heard, but, they did close down some of their fields because of a lifeguard shortage. Seems many lifeguards went back to school. It was on Channel 12 new last night. That's probably why the other fields were so crowded.

I think I've only been to Jones Beach on field trips for bio courses in college. Maybe once when I was a kid I went for the actual beach stuff.

I'm not a Jones Beach fan either...I like the smaller beaches like Point Lookout and Lido BUT they do have cute stuff to do at Jones beach like the mini golf and the pitch and putt( DH and I love that stuff...we're such dorks). I haven't gone to the beach at all this summer!

We went to Field 6 and it was packed!!
People were on top of each other - maybe b/c of lifeguard shortages.
I liked that the bathrooms were close and clean - we don't have that in Long Beach, but I think I'll stick to that.
Yesterday was beautiful but brutal - I sat turned away from the sun a lot of the time - I got fried!

Jones Beach is just weird! The only field I like is 6 and unless you're there at 5am it's ALWAYS closed!
One time I went to 4 and the things my poor little eyes saw and my poor little ears heard...

The elusive field 6 is almost impossible to get into. I've gone to the beach almost every weeekend this summer and I've only seen it open once.

Why is field 6 so hard to get to? It was nice that there were no radios.
I said to my friend - no offense to anyone - I hope we're not going where all the goombas and teenages hookers are!!!

It's just gross... I think that's because the bus pulls everyone up to that spot. No one speaks a word of English and if they do it only begins with the letter "F".
Then...between all the boobs and butts flying around...needless to say it's definitely not a "family beach".

She's right!
Field 6 is considered the "family beach", plus parking is right there...
You don't have to walk MILES to get to the beach.

Yep, Field 6 is definitely the nice one - closer walk to the beach from the parking lot and it is more family oriented.
I think the parking lot is smaller there, so maybe that's why it fills up so quick
