Just informed YESTERDAY that I have an event to go to on Sat, and I don't know what to wear!
My DH just took a new job, and the agency's annual fundraising ball is this weekend at a catering hall.
What would you wear to something like this? Pre-pg I'd probably wear a cocktail dress and heels, but now, unfortunately, I haven't worn heels in months AND all of my cocktail dresses have zippers and therefore won't fit.
I absolutely DO NOT want to wear a sleeveless dress. I don't like my arms on a regular day, forget about a PG day! 
I have a solid black wrap-like dress that doesn't actually wrap, but it has a ruching detail in the front and an elbow sleeve. If I wore that with patent leather pumps, do you think I'd be OK?
DH is wearing a suit.
I don't want to rush to find and buy something - I already checked motherhood and they didn't have anything suitable.

I think the solid black dress you are speaking about would be fine. It is suppose to be close to 80, so you could even get away with a nice wedge shoe if you had....

The black dress sounds good. I would try it on and make sure I feel good in it. Maybe with some nice accessories jewelry to jazz it up with the patent leather pumps.
Otherwise, unfortunately, I would rush around and try to find something I loved. Since it's a new job for DH and you'll probably need to do some schmoozing I would want to feel confident in what I had on. Since I'm a bit overweight, it would be worth it to me to have to rush around this week to make sure I was comfortable.....rather than sort of blah. I'm pretty self-conscious
