Just gave myself a pedicure and I have a clothes donating question
Not professional and didn't get the massage that comes along with the shops, ohwell. I had gone this morning to treat myself. I didn't get one all summer and figured I deserved one. But the shops didn't open until noon. And I was feeling guilty. Like I could take that 20$ and donate it. So, I did it myslef and that is what I'll do. Now to go through the closet.
But are there any places accepting clothing donations for Katrina victims? I have already brought 3 bags to good will last month but I want to specifically donate for Katrina people. Anyone know where in Suffolk they are collecting and will bring down there?

check with the churches...they are the ones taking clothing and canned food down here in GA.
Food is in higher demand than clothing...as well as toiletries like shampoo, toothbrushes, diapers, etc

i just bumped a thread for you that may be helpful. it was about an ad on craigslist from a company that is taking stuff down to NO to help the victims.

That was an awesome thing you did with your pedicure money. DH and I just did the same thing with money that we wanted to spend on a dinner out... instead we packed a picnic and used the money towards our donation.
Someone posted about a certain compnay in Glen Cove collecting goods. They hope to fill a truck and drive it down there.
I know our congregation is donating mostly money because that's the most flexible donation right now.

How wonderful that you saved the pedicure money to do it yourself. I think that is absolutely fantastic!!
