Just Curious, When looking to buy a Home, Do You Only Look On MLS or Do You Look On ForSaleByOwner? Would You Go Look At A ForSaleByOwner Home?
I was just curious and wanted your opinions when looking for a home.

I would look any and everywhere regardless of where it was listed. and YES, I would totally buy a FSBO if it was priced right.

i've been to a few open houses that were for sale by owner. i would not be opposed to it at all, as long as it was priced right. they can be harder to find though.

they can be harder to find though.
ITA - The website doesn't have a complete list of homes that are FSBO.
The best way to find a FSBO is by word of mouth.
We bought our house FSBO and the only difference was that we were negociating directly with the seller as opposed to having a realtor in between.
A smaller difference is that it may take a bit longer to go into contract because there isn't a realtor passing it along.
In our case - the people were asking less $$ listing it on their own (7%) than they were planning on listing it with the realtor for (they were giving it a couple of months to sell on its own first).
They accepted our offer of 5% less than their asking price (12.25% less than what it would have listed with a realtor for).

same here, FSBO homes are usually willing to go lower on their price cause there's no realtor fee

Many people are selling their own homes because they don't want to incurr the broker costs. I would definately look at both - good luck.

I was looking everywhere for over a year and I actually bought my house from fsbo and although its more stressful because there are no realitors involved to handle all of the steps I saved a lot of $$ because I was able to negotiate more. Well worth it in my opinion.

 I have had a very bad morning today, I am receiving calls from realtors just going off on me. I have been called stupid and other names (I can't put them on a family oriented chat) all because I am selling the home fsbo. What really got me was the last call when I was tongue lashed and told I was taking away from her making a living, and who was going to feed her starving kids? (All the while she is sitting outside my home talking on her cell phone to me with her car running and at the end of the ranting asked me to list my home with her ? Oh, did I forget to mention the car was a brand spanking new Mercedes. Any way this seems to be the day I am having.

That's disgusting! Hang up on them the minute they start getting nasty. People like that give realtors a bad name. Sorry you had to deal with that.

OMG! How horrible! You should call the main offices of whatever realty they work for and complain. How unprofessional!
I'm now a little scared to do FSBO...

I am Happy to say all is quiet today. I did report 2 and I was told " Sorry to hear this happened to you" Are you sure you did not misunderstand the person" This is a Top Listing Agent in our office with over 20 years of experience and never a complaint" "I will talk to the person about this" Bottom line I was "Dismissed" I was wasting my breath and time. When I thought about it what were they going to do with a Top Producing Agent making them money anyway ?

I don't think there's anything wrong with looking at houses that are FSBO.
For ME, no, I wouldn't look at a FSBO - -but this is only b/c I hold my broker's license and get a commission when I represent us in buying a home... FSBO = no commission.
While a lower price is tempting, it doesn't compare to u p to 3% in cash at closing.

OMG - I missed all this when I posted. I'm SO SORRY!
I hold my broker's license b/c I"m an attorney (I do NOT work as a realtor). I cannot imagine such business practices.

Kara, Thanks for your input, Yes a simple apology from the company or office would of been nice. I understand your situation where the 3% would come in. Agents have been calling me that they have a interested Buyer and would like to show my home. They are working as a buyers agent and if their client likes my home she/he would get 4%. So I than say " If your a buyers agent representing the buyer and I am to give you 4% (meaning I will be also paying to that same agent) isn't that a conflict in interest ? If I am paying 4% shouldn't you represent Me ? Theirs a big silence on the other end of the phone with You know we don't work for nothing, have a nice day, bye. This just leaves me shaking my head.
