Just curious - NYC teachers -communication
How many of you were contacted over the summer by your principal via e-mail or snail mail about when you could come in to school to set up or what time to be there on Thurs?
I've been teaching there for 4 yrs so I know how it works but if I was new or didn't print the NYC school calendar I would have no idea...

Yeah, you're right. We were given a memo on the last day, but I guess they are assuming we will remember. It's been the exact same for the past 4 years (breakfast @ 8, bs begins @ 8:30)but I definitely see your point.

I've gotten a couple mass emails over the summer with "see you on 8/28". Nothing about a time. But we're a veteran staff so we all know when to show up.

They told us (verbally  ) on the last day of school that we could return on Aug 25th
I agree, the DOE is so disorganized.

I have been contacted through e-mail about when we were allowed to come in, for those who want to come earlier than the 28th.
