Joe Biden's speech

What did you think?

I loved it - but I've loved Biden for years and years. DH is most likely a McCain supporter (not decided, but leaning that way) and he was really impressed.

When his son talked about losing his mom and sister and his father almost giving up his Senate seat, I cried.

I thought it was good, but I don't think he was at the top of his game. Biden has given much stronger speeches over the course of the past 9 months (going back to Iowa when he was still a candidate himself).

It sounded to me like it was a "jumble" speech. I think too many writers had their hands in it and it was not written with a uniform voice. He did a good job with it and make it his own by using his own colloquial refrains ("folks," "friends," etc), but I think it was over managed and therefore watered down from what it could have been.

Kerry, on the other hand, gave the speech he desperately could have used 4 years ago.

It tugged at my heartstrings- as did his son's speech, but like some above said it was jumbled and mixed.

also, im sort of getting sick of people companig mccain to gwb. they are SO different. its like- get another slogan. mccain is not GWB.

instead of picking on mccain, how about telling me WHY you and Obama are a great team. Convince ME of the great things that YOU and HIM can do.

That's the way to get my vote.

I also think Hillary gave a better speech.
