I've been having some awful dreams lately...
Two nights ago I dreamt that I kept thinking it would be a good idea to leave Cailen in the car while I ran errands, because he was sleeping. So, I would leave him with the windows closed and go into a store or dr. office, then begin to panic, and run back to the car to find him screaming and all hot and sweaty....
Whats wrong with me???????
Then, last night i dreamt he and I were kidnapped and kept hostage in this man's house.  And there were opportunities where I could have fought and tried to get out of there, and I kept thinking - "But what if I don't succeed? What if something happens to me and Cailen is then in danger and I cant protect him?"
What is my mind doing to me??????

You're not crazy. It's the worst of all of our fears.
Since I've had kids my nightmares have had them in every perilous situation possible as I've tried desperately to save them - some in which I failed to save them.
You now have something you cherish more than life itself. I think it's normal that it creeps into your subconscious.

Because that's what the fear is created from - your negligence. Your greatest fear (I would think) is something happening to Cailen. He has to be in peril or you wouldn't be fearful.
Also if you're sleeping with a TV or radio on, there were 2 separate incidents this week of an infant & toddler dying from being left in a car.

I had this dream two weeks ago and I was so shaken by it , I forced myself back into it so I could change the ending - I took DD with me instead of leaving her in the car..
Type A - editing my own dreams
I think it happens if you hear something bad on the news about something happneing someone elses kid and you put yourself in that situation.

Well I had a dream the other night that Angelina Jolie tried to steal Jordana from me for her brood.
SO I would say that our dreams are filled with anxieties, TV, experiences thoughout the day, and for me- an overdose of celebrity gossip.
