It's been a few weeks since my mom put one dog to sleep and...
her other dog is in kidney failure and has maybe a week.  My mom is so upset- this dog is her baby- she's a mini pin and was dumped from a puppy mill 12 years ago. She's about 15 so she's had a good run but it's just so soon after Maggie had to be put down. We talked a little while ago and I didn't even know what to say to her...

I do hope that your vet can do something for your mom's little love.
I know it is hard. I had to help my little mini pin to the rainbow bridge this past October. He was also a rescue & it was very hard for me to let him go. But I rescued him when he was 10 & had a wonderful 8 years with him, which is more than anyone thought he could handle. I know it does not change things, but please just know that you & your mom gave this pup a great life, and showed a dog love when it was so needed. She lived the fullest life of a dog, knowing love every night when she went to bed, instead of the fear and neglect that she was born into.

Thanks for that, it's very true. There really isn't much the vet can do, but I am glad that she was able to have a good life. I just hope that she doesn't have to suffer too much.
