ISO ELECARE INFANT FORMULA

Hi,

Is anyone selling Elecare infant formula? My new insurance doesn't cover it until I meet my deductible (by that time LO won't need formula anymore).

TIA

I don't have any but are you sure. I thought insurance companies were required to cover the cost. mine went through my prescription plan. I use to get it at CVS and paid I think $20 for 10 cans. I would continue to fight them it took me a while to finally get them to cover it.

Also I am assuming you must have a very high deductible if you don't think you will meet it because that formula is really expensive!

With my first LO it was paid 100%, since my company changed insurance. How it was explained to me.. it's not covered by the prescription plan, but is covered under medical. However, I need to meet my deductible first. My deductible is so high, so I've been paying around $547 OOP.
I've been lucky enough to find some for sale on FB MOM pages, but haven't had much luck lately. I don't know how it's not covered when you can't get it OTC. It's insane!

Are you paying $547 a case?? I had to pay oop even thought we had a script from the GI. We got it from Walmart for $40-$45 per can (price would fluctuate). I bought online, but it would probably be a similar price through their pharmacy.

Yes! Exactly $547... I had a script too. I've been lucky enough to date to find it second hand for $15-25 a can, but haven't had much luck lately. FYI- Amazon sells it for $37.50 per.

I had that battle 6 years ago... Fought with my insurance over and over. They are required by state law to cover it.. Keep calling them. And tell them you are calling the media.... It took me 2 months and a thousand $ to get it, but they finally decided to cover it..

Ask your ped for samples. If they don't have any on hand they can call their formula rep and have them bring some.
