Is tree removal expensive??

We found this great house that needs some updating. There is this tree in the backyard and the owners built a deck around it. The problem with the tree is, the roots are FREAKING HUGE and actually pushing up the deck. Now, the tree is also hanging way to much over the house. One good storm and Im thinking I will have birds in the den.

so, is it buko bucks to cut that sucker down. It's go to be about 200 yrs old. It is HUGE.

For all the tree folks, we would plant another one in its place.Chat Icon

TIA

We had a huge maple tree in our backyard with tons of roots. We priced around and found someone that took it down for a little under $2500. Check your local pennysaver and just get different estimates.

We have a huge tree in front of our house (not on our property but on our line) that we were trying to persuade our neighbor to remove (we would pay). Our quotes ranged from 1200-2000 for the removal.

we had a large maple removed and it was 750 cash to remove it. I dont know how easy it will be for them to get into your yard but it gets costly when the tree is in a diffficult area to get to. you will also probably have to remove your deck.

I was just quoted $700 for a very very tall Ash tree and it had to be hand cut because their trucks wouldn't have been able to get all the way in the back. It also has a really large root system. I would recommend the company because the guy really knew what he was talking about but I am in NJ.

FM JavaJunkie because she had a really large tree in her backyard taken down last year and the company was very reasonable.

FYI, if you are in Nassau you will need a permit to take down the the trees you plan to cut. If the town finds out they can stop the job immediately and you can be fined. I *think* it is about $75 a tree.

We just had one taken down for 600.00 . ( w/ the stump grinding ). I think it depends on the time of the year it is taken down.

Short answer, yes. And depending on its location and whether or not the tree company can easily get their equipment, costs can get high! My parents paid in cash and paid $1400 for trees, one was easy at the curb and one was in thier yard.

We are in suffolk and had a huge tree taken down in our front yard and had the rest of the trees pruned and it cost about 1200. They were great and beat Cheap Charlies price. FM if you want their name because I have to ask my DH.

All the people we got estimates from required a permit from the town. It was in the backyard and the tree was huge. They were afraid with the wires and other houses around. Guess they were covering themselves. The permit was another $90

JB's

This is the company we used last year, they were half of the 1500-1600 quotes we got, they work fast and cleaned up everything. I had to get a permit first which was $50-$75
