Is this normal for a 1 yr old??

she only naps once a day
so if she gets up around 8am she doesnt nap until 2 or 2:20pm
then she gets up around 3:30-4pm and then doesnt go to sleep until 11:30 sometimes midnight

she used to be in bed at 7:15pm no matter what but then all of a sudden this is her new schedule

its driving me nutz

I think she would be overtired.

From my daughter's daycare:

1 year olds generally take 2 naps a day, 1-2 hours minimum.

It might be normal but from my own experience, I would say thats a huge schedule change!

If she is only doing that one nap a day, 11:30/midnight is really late for bed...a stretch of almost 8 hours is a while for her to be up (From end of nap till bed).

I was going to say....try if you can to get her to nap before 2pm...even pushing back to 1pm...

Question....(sorry it might sound dumb but i am just trying to understand more)...are you trying to get her down for the night around 8pm and she is refusing? Laying in her crib babbling? Or hanging out playing with you and DH?

Wanted to add....1 nap/day sounds right for a 1 year old. My son started taking 1 nap/day at 10 months old and has stuck to that. He wakes up at 6:30, nap around 10/10:30, up frrom nap by 1pm and bedtime 7.

DD is 15 months and she takes one or two naps a day. If she takes one nap her schedule is usually:

7:30 wake up
11-1 nap
6:30-7pm bed

DD plays with Dh and then when I start trying to put her to bed she flips out screaming and crying and starts gagging so I end up taking her out of the crib and then let her back in my room to watch Elmo

then I try again and again until she finally falls asleep

DD is almost 1 yr and she takes 2 naps. she in bed everyday ar 7-730
