So, DS will ONLY take 4oz of formula at a feeding. I am guessing he is having a growth spurt now b/c he has been waking up 3x per night (between 7:30pm when he goes down and 7:30am when he wakes up for good) to eat the past couple of days.

Is there anyway I can increase his intake without force feeding him? Or am I just stuck with this 4oz business? Are there any tricks I am not aware of?

hmm.. is he still sucking away after the bottle is done? is he looking for more?

Also, how old is he? has he started cereal in the bottle yet?

Could it be teething? have you noticed any teething signs? excessive drooling, spit up, hands in the mouth, etc.?

My kids always slept more when they had growth spurts.. Chat Icon

Can you try a 4 oz and then say another one less then 3 hours apart and see if he will take it more frequently?

We had to up Noahs slowly....He alsways wanted more but too much and he would spit up..so we started at just about 1/2 an oz more at each feeding and so on.

How many bottles a day is he on?

I was also going to suggest trying to let him go a little longer between feedings, so maybe he will take more at each feeding----Im not sure if he will let you do this though!

I remember going through this as well. It doesn't last too long.

We upped Alex to 6 oz but she never finished so we've found that 5 oz is the answer. She stays awake long enough to finish it, and then sleeps for 6-7 hours at night....
