Is it tacky to have deserts only for a "sprinkle?"

I am putting together a sprinkle for a teacher who missed out on her first shower.

We are going to have it after school one day, but, would it be tacky if we did deserts only? We don't have anywhere to heat things up and potluck always turns out to be a disaster.

WDYT?

Many of the work showers we have had have been dessert only. No biggie. I don't know anyone who would be dissapointed with dessertChat Icon

I would do desserts only. I am sure it will be a wonderful "sprinkle" and everyone will enjoy it regardless.

i don't think thats tacky at all... any shower that i've been to at work has always been "low key" with just desserts and chips or other "snack" type stuff.
ETA especially after school- everybody will already have eaten lunch, and its too early for dinner.. so desserts and snacks are perfect.

most of the showers here at work have some sort of fruit, cheese platters and cake.

so i think what you're planning would be totally fine.

Not tacky at all - a good choice for her sprinkle!

I think it sounds great! You could do a really nice variety: cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, candies, virgin cocktail....

No way! I had a desserts only baby shower because it started at 2:00 p.m. - after everyone has lunch. My friends just made sure to let everyone know on the invite that it was a Desserts Shower so that everyone would eat before they got there. It was so much fun!!!!
