Is it possible for a baby to get an ear infection if they are already on antibotics???

Is it possible for a baby to get an ear infection if they are already on antibotics???
My DD has been sick for a week. Runny nose, cough, you name it. She has been miserable - not even eating. I have taken her to the ped. twice so far. The second time the ped. prescribed azithromycin. She has been on it since Sat.
Well, today, my mom just called me to tell me that Paige is screaming and was poking at her ear. I have seen her poke before without there being an infection present but the screaming this is not her. She cries a lot but doesnt scream her head off. I know the difference and so does my mom.
Anyway, I dont see how she could get an infection if she is already on meds. Is is possible?

I think its possible..DS only responds to Augmenton, everything else is not strong enough
