is it ok to eat fat free yogurt? and what kind do you eat?

i'm not trying to watch my weight, but this is just my preferance. Is it ok to eat yogurt with aspartame in it?? i have been eating it every day this week b/c i bought it before i found out we are preggo. I am 5W today.

My Ob recommends me staying away from artificial sweeteners. He'd rather have me intake the real sugar. I tend to stay away from fat-free items b/c they are usually laden with other additives.

I agree with the PP - I'd rather have the sugar than the artificial sweetener even if I wasn't pregnant!

You might want to try plain greek yogurt and add some fruit and/or honey to it.

I love F/F Stoneyfield yogurt. It's sooo good and no aspartame. I do know I've had stuff with aspartame in it. I can't remember to look at the ingrediants for everything I eat.

ok, do you think i should be nervous?? i ate 3 FF yogurts this week with aspartame....next week i will buy the regular kind.

i will definately also mention it to my OB when i see her in 2 weeks

I wouldn't worry about it - your OB might even say it's fine. Personally I would just rather not have the chemicals in my body, but I've always hated aspartame.

Once in a while I eat the Chobani non-fat greek yogurt. It is non-fat but so creamy and yummy!

I eat Stonyfield yogurt everyday- either lowfat or FF. It's organic and no artificial sweetners

Baby doesn't even share your bloodstream yet - you're totally fine! If you're concerned, as PP have said, check out Stoneyfield Farms. It's delicious and organic

Its too early to even worry about something like this. At 5 weeks, the baby doesnt share your bloodstream yet. The placenta isnt even fully formed yet.

But for the future, in general I stay away from any artificial sweeteners (even pre-pregnancy).

i stay away from artificial sweetners, though i wouldn't worry about it at this point- just going foward, try to avoid them.

I eat Dannon light and fit.. it has on 16 grams of carbs in it... which is all i can have being GD

i am trying to avoid the artifical sweetners. i used to be a big dannon light n' fit, but there are a lot of good fat free yogurts out there without the chemicals:

chobani ( so good---greek syle... really rich and creamy!)
stoneyfield farms
trader joe's

I have been eating Chobani yogurt my whole pregnancy. It's fat free but not sugar free. It is totally natural and has extra protein. It's also delicious.

honestly, there are so many products out there that have aspartame in it, you shouldn't worry. don't purposely go out and eat it, but it's not gonna kill you

honestly, i switched away from diet drinks- to avoid the sweetner... i gained ALOT of weight.. like at 22 weeks along i gained what i was suppose to for the whole pregnancy...

I talked to my doctor- and he said the sweetner would be better for me than all that sugar...
