Is consistant coughing a sign of allergies???

I have been coughing non-stop for about 2 weeks. I dont know what the heck it could be. I have some minor spring allergies, but I know its only allergies because my eyes are dry/or red..I get a runny nose- stuffy head. Thing is... I dont have ANY of these symptoms- just coughing! Its not a major cough- like the kind you get with the flu- just an uncontrolable urge to cough about once every 2 minutes.

What on gods green earth can this be???? UUGHH. Has this happened to anyone? Should I see a doc?

Is it a dry cough?
Is your throat itchy at all?

I would go to the doc. Two weeks is a long time. I hope you feel better soon.

Hmmm...stinky.

I had a cough at the beginning of this allergy season. The doctor told me it should be brief. And for home remedies to try warm tea with honey and lemon, or a cold mist humidifier.

I started taking Zyrtec and it has really helped me and I am not coughing.

However, I did not cough for as long as you did Janie....like Susan said...maybe you should see a doctor

It would pay to see a doctor to get a better idea since you had the cough for a few weeks.

OMG Janie! I know I just IMD you to tell you, but I have the same exact thing for a week now. It started out a mild sore throat, then turned into this dry ANNOYING cough.

i took cough medicine and it helped-but its soooooo annoyin at nite

i wouldnt go to the doc, bc they really cant do anything

The dr told me I had a sinus infection when I was complaining of a dry cough with no other allergy-type symptoms. Only antibiotics will get rid of it.

DH has allergies, and his most severe symptom is his cough. He wakes himself up at night with it sometimes, it can be awful. Definitely see your doctor, or an allergist, it could help.

You may want to try a cold air humidifier. I sleep with one sometimes and it helps.

I would still just go to the doc and make sure it's not something more serious.

I have had for about two weeks and the doctor said it could be an upper respiatory infection. She gave me syrup with codeine to help me sleep and I have also been using the vicks rub. It has been very annoying!

Yup!!! I get it every year; lasts about a month. I went to the doctor who said I just have to wait it out. sometimes the coughing is so bad I don't get a good nite's sleep. She gave me a cough medicine w/codine. While it made me soooo , it really didn't help the problem.
