is a sleep positioner necessary?
Im so nervous and wondering if i should pick one up. Though i read reviews how the child slides down. I have a history of sids in family and i think thats why im being a little neurotic. I read about the sleep positioners that keep them on an incline are these the better ones. Please post any suggestions you have heard about.

Re: is a sleep positioner necessary?
I hated it. DS kept sliding down and rolling off to the side. I thought him being on an incline would be good, but this time around I would rather put a wedge under the mattress for incline.
Don't waste your money.

Re: is a sleep positioner necessary?
I never used one because I feared it ADDED to Sids risk (it's basically a pillow in the crib) never missed it. DS didn't move a whole lot in his sleep when he was that young.

I got one but haven't used it at all. DS seems totally fine without out. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of $$$ on it and am kicking myself now for throwing away the wrapper so I can't return it!

Re: is a sleep positioner necessary?
I registered for one and plan on trying it. The one I registered for has side pieces that go under the arms so they can't slide. Though who knows if it actually works...
In terms of SIDS, there are other things that are recommended side from a slight include. For instance, we put an overhead fan in the room because they're now saying that the circulation of the air helps prevent SIDS. I would suggest looking up other ideas since it runs in your family. Also, just because others have gotten it doesn't mean your child will. One article I read in a baby magazine said they think one link to SIDS is if the pregnant mom is around cigarette smoke a lot. Something about it effects the air, which then prevents the baby from developing some reflex for breathing...don't know.

Re: is a sleep positioner necessary?
this inclined sleep positioner SAVED MY LIFE and gave us much needed rest!! i got the one that is a foam incline with side foams for her arms..she is SOOOO comfy on it, the second she lays down she closes her eyes and fallas asleep..shes never rolled off, shes never looked uncomfortable or unsafe.. she loves being swaddled and cuddled and i feel like the side foams give her that extra support she needs...

I originally registered for one but then took it off. From what I have read they are really unnecessary.
