Internal exam?
I'm wondering what to expect for my first internal exam. I get it next week at 35 weeks. Will it be painful? How much longer does it take then a regular yearly exam, which is usually like 2 seconds and pretty painless in my experience.
My SIL said she was crying so bad in hers it hurt so bad. I'm a little scared

It is very uncomfortable, but its more bearable than the internals you get when your in labor. Hopefully your Dr will be more gentle than your sil Dr. Dont be surprised if you spot after the exam

It didn't bother me much at all. To me, it was like a regular checkup.

Mine doesn't use a speculum so it's not as bad as the regular annuals. And it takes about 2 minutes more than a non-internal checkup.

I remember its was very uncomfortable and it did hurt a little bit cuz of all the pressure but it is pretty quick

i think it depends on the dr. the internals didn't hurt me at all except for when one particular dr. did it. I made sure not to sched appt with her after that !

I didn't hurt all all and it was like 2 seconds. I remember being nervous before mine bacuse so many people said it hurt like hell. What did hurt was when they jammed the 5 foot Q-tip up there to do the strep B culture
