Inconsiderate friends
Does anyone have inconsiderate friends? Last Monday I emailed my friend to go out to drinks on Thursday and she never answered. So Thursday I gave her another email asking if everything was okay. Today I just called her and left a message on her cell. She's always been not very dependable, but she has depression and I'm worried about her, and she KNOWS I worry about her. I just think it's inconsiderate that she can't just email back saying, "I'm okay, just don't feel like going out or talking."

no my friends are not like that, but I would just say to your friend I care about you and love you whats wrong you can talk to me? just keep calling her she might get upset but just know she is proberly going through her depression but she will be thankful afterwards you were there for her.

Right now, I'm an inconsiderate friend. My good friend called me yesterday as I was running out the door and dropped some fairly big news on me. I chatted with her for a few minutes, but then I had to go. I promised to call her back, but since we were having people over and going to dinner, I was busy preparing and just didn't have time. Also,a conversation with this friend requires me to seriously block off at least an hour. And today we are just about to go bike riding and then tonight is the Met game, so I probably won't be calling her back today either. I feel bad, but she's a talker and I don't have that kind of time on weekends that my husband is off.
ETA: If my friend was suffering from depression or anything like that, I definitely would have called her back asap.

None of my friends are like that. They may not get back to me right away, but they will eventually. I admit, I am not a phone person. Email was invented and honestly it just makes my life easier as well as AIM.
Im horrible at returning calls, but, I eventually do it.
I would keep calling your friend though.
If I had a friend going through this I definitley would not give up. I'd keep calling and emailing till I heard her voice or see a reply in an email from her.

I don't get back to my friends right away. It usually takes me a few days to call them back, unless they let me know on the message that it is something important. If they just say hey, just wanted to say hi, then I usually call back in a few days.
That is just how I am and I don't think it's necessarily inconsiderate. My friends know it at this point and as far as I know it doesn't bother them -- it's just how I am.
