in home daycare advice needed please

I normally post on the pregnancy board but I needed some advice and I figured that you guys would be the best to ask.

The family I nanny for no longer needs me after the school year because their mom is going to stay home with them but it couldn't come at the worst time. I'm expecting mid-August and this lost of income is going to be a huge blow to our family. I want to start babysitting from my home so I have posted on craigslist, care.com and sittercity.com because of advice from you guys. I just was wondering if you could help me out on my profile. What would you ad or take out. What are somethings that you would be looking for in an in home daycare? Thanks SO much

I am a soon to be stay at home mom available for childcare. I live in South Amityville. I am 25 years old, married, have a degree in secondary Social Studies Education (7-12) and just about finished with my masters in Teaching English as a Second Language (K-12). I have experience working with special needs students, early childhood literacy, ESL students, toddlers, and elementary age through high school students. I am currently a nanny for three children. I have been with this family for 2 years. Their mom has decided to stay home with them so I will no longer be needed. My typical day with them: I usually show up at 8 am, I do dishes, throw in the kids wash, get them ready for school, send the older two on the bus, then take the youngest with me to my house for the day and we do our activities and play dates from there. Then, I come back to their house around 3, finish up their wash, get the kids off the bus, then help them with their homework. Before being a nanny, I was a substitute teacher with the Levittown Public School District for two years, substitute teaching in all grade levels. I have babysat on and off since I was in middle school, volunteered in high school by cleaning houses for senior citizens, taught Sunday school at my church for preschoolers, and worked with infant- age five English language learners. I LOVE going out and doing things, HATE sitting inside and watching TV, so we will do plenty of activities! Currently we go to the library to do puzzles and story time, walk down to the water, ride bikes, go to the beach, swim lessons, playground, go out on the boat, go to argyle park, take tours of the firehouse (my husband is a volunteer fireman), go to the movies, arts and crafts, etc.
I will be infant/child CPR certified this month. References available upon request as well as is my resume. I look forward to hearing from you! Elizabeth

this sounds pretty good to me. I considered an inhome setting when looking for DS and the one that i met and a few that i spoke with..whoa....no thanks.

none of them were nearly as qualified as you.

and the fact that you're young..helps too.

Re: in home daycare advice needed please

What month will you make yourself available? I would note that in the description (if it is Oct, Nov, etc.), along with the age of your child who you will be home with (I assume?). Also, do you plan on doing as many activities with the children if you have your own baby to bring along? As a new mom, it was rough getting my own baby out in the winter, let alone other kids if I was babysitting.

aw thanks, that gives me hope! lol

and I was afraid that the fact that I was young would look bad, because I didn't have any kids of my own yet, so that's good to know.
