We're going to Orlando. I'm getting more and more nervous about it. He'll be sitting on our laps. I'll take any tips or advice at all! The ped said to give him tylenol right before we get on the plane for his ears. I also heard to give him a bottle or pacifier when we're taking off. Anything else??

I didn't do any tylenol. Just made sure he was sucking his paci on the way up and down. Don't make yourself crazy. I did and he was fine both ways!

I dont know why the peds recommend tylenol for ears - you have no way of knowing if his ears will bother him or not so why give it? but that is just my opinion.

I have travelled on 7-8 hour flights with my two at various ages - recently with our 4 year old and 11 month old. From here to orlando you should have no problem - just bring a couple of small books, toys and snacks and relax....most people are very understanding of infants flying.

Oh and dont forget a couple of changes of clothes for him and one for you too...just in case.

What time are your flights?

We've flown 3x so far with DD (4 months, 9 months and 11 months) and it was different every time. You can't predict how he'll be but just bring snacks (mum-mums, puffs, etc), a few books, small toys and bottles.

Try to give him a bottle during take off... but make sure you are about to take off when you start the bottle. We made the mistake of giving her a bottle while sitting on the runway and we were like 89th in line so we waited over 45 minutes to take off.

I personally wouldn't give tylenol. DD has never had it before or on any flights and she's been fine.

Thanks for all the tylenol advice! I'll hold off on that. My flight going is at 12:15. Coming home is at 3:30.
