If you're getting a bedding set, what are you doing with the comforter?

If you're getting a bedding set, what are you doing with the comforter?

Are you going to hang it on the wall?

I'm debating doing this and came across these invisible hanging hooks which look pretty cool.

Also, I know i've seen a shelf with a bar that you can also hang a quilt from, anyone know where I can get something like that?

If you're not hanging it, are you draping it over something, displaying it another way or just waiting to use it until Chat Icon gets older?

I believe this is what we will do. I might hang it though, I won't really decide until everything is in his room

I found this on the JCPenny website in the outlet section under furniture a long time ago. It looks like they still have it but in ebony only.

I can't seem to copy the link. go to JCPenny.com, Outlet, then furniture, then click on Baby's Room.

I'm making a quilt because it really adds and is a big jump off point for the nursery's vibe. I do plan on displaying it either with quilt clips (I've had cute wooden star ones for years and ironically am doing a star wallpaper in the nursery), or draping it over the rocking chair (and using it while breastfeeding or rocking baby to sleep), or draping it over the crib rail for big company/visit days! I will also use it as a floor/tummy time play mat and walks outside in my vintage baby pram!

So sure, the baby is not supposed to have a blanket in the crib but I'll definitely use it.

Check out my reply and others in this quilt related post.... You'll find info on quilt clips and hangers. Chat Icon

Oh, that is cute!

I don't know how much room we have left in our nursery (cause two walls are slanted) but if we have room, I'd love to hang it up like that...plus the shelf holds stuff...nice

We bought this quilt hanger at JCPenny's. We bought it in white, but it was more of an off white. We had to repaint it with white paint. We love it though.

I used DS's on the floor if he was playing. Most of the time it is stored in his closet. I will do the same for DD.

I hang mine over the side of the crib. When she goes to sleep in the crib, I'll just move it for the time being and put it back when she's up.

" They " say you shouldn't put anything in the crib since it could cause SIDS , there have been cases where babies have suffocated due to bedding and bumpers .

Ok but what about when she is not in it??? Like I use my bed spread.. I just make my bed everymorning and throw it on? Does everyone mean when its off the crib and the baby is in it?? I would just fold it on a chair and in the morning make up her crib w/it??

You could use it as a bed spread and then remove it when the baby is in the crib . I think there are many alternatives to using it for decorative purposes and NOT while the baby is sleeping, and I think after a certain point it is ok to use ( I want to say 18 months, but I am not 100% sure) .
